Heartfelt Wednesday's

Hi, Im back with this week's Heartfelt Creations design. I used something old and something new and something blue...well, teal...lol... The full instructions on how I made this 12 x 12 layout can be seen at Heartfelt Creations Blog. All the flowers and ornaments are made with paper....there are sooo many beautiful creations you can make with their Stamps and Die Cus over and over again. The best part is all you need is cardstock...it becomes really economical during these crunch times. So here is something amazing and generous from HC.

Heartfelt Creations Christmas Gift Certificate Give Away: As a thank you to all our loyal HC customers, Heartfelt Creations will be giving away 50 - $50 Dollar Gift Certificates on December 21st at 9PM EST. On December 21st we will be providing you with the direct link to the giveaway page on our blog, Facebook and email. Once the page goes live you submit your information and a $50 gift certificate will automatically be emailed. Once the 50 gift certificate limit has been reached it will be indicated on the page. Mark your calenders and make sure you are available at that time, they will be snatched up quickly!

I had this paper from an old Scrap That kit...it is from Pion designs. Be sure to check it out! I also had this old Bo Bunny Paper that I have been wanting to use for a while...It became a perfect match to really enhance the whole design. I used whites, creams and teals.
This is a photo of my little niece Emma. I took this photo of her this past Thanksgiving, she was already wearing her Christmas dress. I asked her "Is Santa Coming?" she said "Yes" and I took this photo...perfect timing for her adorable smile with her curly hair.

Here is a close-up of the beautiful poinsettia stamps, rose die cuts and leaf swirls from Heartfelt Creations. Love them!

These elegant flourished ornaments can be made using the NEW Black Friday Gatefold Collection, this is the "Feather Grass Flourish"

Be sure to check out all the other designs this week at Heartfelt Creations Blog. You will be inspired like I am every week too! Thanks for stopping by!

Lump of Coal Cookie Packaging

Hi, last weekend, I went to my annual cookie exchange party and I knew exactly how I was going to wrap the cookies. Martha Stewart’s Gift Coal Boxes inspired me last year and I decided to make my version to accommodate the cookies.

First, the supplies:

6 inch Cookie Tins any color…I bought mine at the dollar store.

Black Cardstock

Black Glitter Cardstock….2 sheets at Target for 99 cents

Electrical Tape

Paper Trimmer

Scissors

Fabric Starch

Glue

Ruler

Ribbon

Tags…I made mine with Cricut and Microsoft word.

Second, cut 6 strips of black cardstock 2 ½ inches wide. Two of these pieces will be to wrap around the bottom of the tin. Glue them together. I also used foil and placed my cookies inside.

Third, crumble up the 4 pieces of black cardstock and tape it down with electrical tape on the lid.

Fourth, spray black glitter paper lightly on the NON glitter side of the paper with fabric starch and wipe off excess. DON’T over spray or it will rip the paper…..I made that mistake! Lol Then, wrap on top of the lid and crunch it up a bit. It dries super fast, no need to wait and no mess!

Lastly, add ribbon and tag. That’s it! I also put the recipe on the back of the tag.

Here is another view of your Lump of Coal.

Christmas Door and Wreath Tutorial

Hi Ladies,

Im here today to share a quick Christmas card to make if you haven't started or finished them yet this year! Like me!!! lol...I have seen these around some sites and well this is my version of how to make these fabulous, fast christmas doors with wreaths.

First, I cut 2 (2x2) white paper squares and 2 (2x4) white paper rectangles for my standard white

5 x 6 1/2 card that can be bought in bulk at your local Michael's store..pks of 50 for 10.00....or if you have a coupon even better! I then distressed the squares to give it a bit dimension.

Secondly, the most important part is to have a branch punch. It is approximately 1 1/4 inches. You can use any clear glue and cut out a circle 2 1/2 inches. Punch out several pieces on branches in green cardstock.

Thirdly, you just layer the branches back and forth in and out of the circle till you go all the way around.

Lastly, you glue down the white panels of the door and using pop dots behind the wreath to give it more dimension. Fluff up the branches and add embellishments. I added a old bell, red ribbon, flower soft and a brad for the door knob. EASY and It really looks like you put a lot of work into this....should take about 30-45 minutes to make :)
Hope you enjoyed!

Hi

Im so glad I found it yesterday to make all these beautiful branches...you will be seeing it a lot more soon! This paper is from an old SCRAP THAT kit! I thought it was perfect for a vintage christmas card.

This photo is of my daughter and a friend of hers....he has those snake bites and with that creepy look he had...it looked like one of those "Bitten" movies....lol
The tombstones are made from kraft paper and the whole tutorial can be seen at
Creating Keepsakes Magical Halloween Layout Ideas. I also added blingy bats, MS Halloween punch and papers, and cobweb to give this layout a super creepy and yet a romantic look

Baby Girl Diaper Cake

Hi ladies,
I wanted to share with you my FIRST diaper cake that I made for my friend's baby shower last week. She is having a girl and her favorite color is pink...so it worked out perfect! I can't believe that they actually charge $125.00 for something like this!! I already owned everything except the diapers...so it costed me under $18.00....lol...but if I had to buy the bear, ribbons, and flowers it would still be under $30.00 to make....I must be in the wrong business??? lol
I rolled all the diapers and placed string around them....then I added the ribbon and lace....I just cut the flowers leaving the stems and tucked them around the cake. I added ribbon around the bears neck to match the rest of the cake too. It took me about an hour to make this cake...easy peasy!!

Here is a closer view of the ribbons and pink flowers....
Here is a photo of my dear friend Julie "baby bear" and some friends at the shower.

Today I’m going to share with you my project using the Scrap That! November “Putting on the Glitz” Kit featuring the Glitz Design Vintage Blue Paper Collection.
This first layout is yellows and whites....I love the vintage feeling of those amazing shutters by Prima! If you don't have any yet I highly recommend getting some with this amazing add-on kit...In this kit I couldn't stop layering and layering...it has to be my newest favorite kit! I added doilies from a prior Scrap That kit and white lace. This is my Roxy again....she was going through a fad of wearing this yellow ASU jacket like everyday....It was the perfect color photo for this beautiful kit!

A closer view of those amazing vintage shutters...
I made the flowers with cardstock and added the beautiful prima flowers from the kit in the center. I also crimped the leaves and layered them over the swirls from Heartfelt Creations and spellbinders.
Here is my second layout, I used lots of layering of these gorgeous blues and yellows together. This layout was made with the main kit and the only thing I added was the DA music chipboard..hint...it came from another main kit from Scrap That too! I made some of the paper flowers with spellbinders roses...super easy and fun to make... This photo is of my oldest dd and her boyfriend. I RARELY get photos of them together....I think he is picture shy....lol...but the blues of their shirts was the perfect photo to use with these amazing blue vintage papers.
Here is a close-up of the prima roses and the handmade paper flowers. I took part of the feathers from one of the kit's flowers and used it as part of a fun look behind the flowers. The stickles was also from a prior Scrap That kit and as you can see every month you can add on and on from prior kits! Love it!
Here I made some hearts and layered them over each other in the blues and yellows. Here you can see the beautiful DA birdcage that comes with this month's kit. I also loved the birds that I just cut out and used some pop dots behind them....
My third layout is my adorable little niece....I have had this photo for a long time. It is a 5x7 photo of my brother's oldest daughter. She is 6 now! lol...I have been waiting for the perfect colors, papers and theme to capture the beauty of this photo....and...well, this month's kit was just that! Love the yellow flowers and vintage papers...I did add some bling, doily and a small piece of lace.
Here is a close-up of the beautiful grey flower and yellow flowers that come with the add-on kit. It truly is a beautiful flower IRL.
